What this workshop is
This workshop is dedicated to the practice of cyanotype applied to glass, addressing the process through a technical, rigorous and experimental approach. Starting from a historical foundation, the focus lies on the material understanding of the process, its limitations and its potential as a photographic image on a rigid and transparent support.
Cyanotype, traditionally associated with paper, reveals a particular behaviour when applied to glass, requiring precise control of the emulsion, coating and exposure. This workshop proposes a conscious and in-depth approach to these specificities.
Topics covered
Preparation of the cyanotype emulsion
Coating and sensitising glass
Emulsion adhesion, uniformity and drying
Exposure methods and density control
Washing, stabilisation and finishing
Recurring issues and problem-solving strategies
Who this workshop is for
This workshop is intended for photographers interested in historical and alternative processes, artists working with photography as a material object, and individuals with prior darkroom experience or photographic practice.

Workshop format
The workshop is conducted on an individual basis or for a maximum of two participants, allowing close guidance throughout all stages of the process.
The content and pace are adapted to the objectives of each participant, making it possible to explore variations of the process, test different approaches and address specific questions in an informed manner.
Methodology
The approach is essentially practical, supported by continuous reflection on the technical decisions made in the laboratory. Error is understood as an integral part of the learning process, allowing participants to understand the limits of the method and to consolidate an autonomous practice.
The objective is not merely the production of immediate results, but the construction of a solid foundation for a consistent and sustained practice over time.
