What this workshop is
This workshop is dedicated to the introduction and practice of the wet collodion photographic process, applied to glass and metal, following nineteenth-century historical methods and a rigorous laboratory approach adapted to a contemporary context.
The process involves the manual preparation of the plate, sensitising, exposure and development while the material remains wet, requiring technical control, precision and a careful reading of light and time.

Topics covered
Preparation and cleaning of glass and metal plates
Preparation and application of collodion
Sensitising in a silver nitrate bath
Control of exposure and light
Development, fixing and washing
Production of tintypes (metal) and ambrotypes (glass)
Varnishing and conservation of the images
Identification and resolution of common issues
Who this workshop is for
This workshop is intended for photographers, artists and individuals interested in historical and alternative photographic processes, with an interest in a manual and chemical approach to photography.
It is not an introductory photography course, but a specific initiation into the wet collodion process.
Workshop format
The workshop is conducted on an individual basis or for a maximum of two participants, allowing close guidance throughout all stages of the process.
The content and working pace are adapted to the level and objectives of each participant, making it possible to deepen specific aspects of wet collodion and to test variations in a conscious and informed manner.
Methodology
The approach is essentially practical and reflective, prioritising the understanding of the technical and chemical foundations of the process.
Error is understood as an integral part of learning, allowing decisions to be refined, material limitations to be understood and technical knowledge to be consolidated.
The objective is not merely to obtain immediate results, but to create solid foundations for an autonomous, consistent and sustained practice over time.
